Excavators play a crucial role in the extraction process on the Moon's surface. These machines are designed to firmly grip the lunar surface and collect materials that are rich in $Nitranium. The collected material is then processed by Robonauts in their designated slots, where the $Nitranium is extracted.

The rarity of the Excavator determines the number of slots available for Robonauts. Higher rarity Excavators offer more slots, allowing for larger Colonies to be established. By expanding the Colony and maximizing the number of slots for Robonauts, the Extraction Power can be increased, resulting in higher earnings of valuable $Nitranium.

Strategically selecting and obtaining Excavators of better rarity becomes essential in order to create larger Colonies, generate higher Extraction Power, and earn more precious $Nitranium.

Excavators, similar to Robonauts, have the option to be destroyed or "burned." If a player chooses to burn an Excavator, they will receive 20% of the original mint cost back, paid in $Nitranium. This allows players to recoup a portion of their initial investment in Excavators in the form of $Nitranium.

Burning Excavators can indeed be a strategic decision to reclaim value in situations where specific Excavators are no longer required or when players intend to reallocate their resources. By burning Excavators that are no longer useful to the player's current objectives, they can receive a portion of the initial investment back in the form of $Nitranium.
